Jubilee Land is an upcoming development in Almaty, Kazakhstan that seeks to differentiate itself through a fresh and contemporary take on residential design. In our proposed design for the common spaces and 3-bedroom show suite, we kept the style clean but not clinical; minimalist yet warm. The result would be an elegantly inviting and cosy retreat from the harsh winters common in Kazakhstan and a refreshing alternative to the ornate or bling designs popular with many luxury residences.
 
Layers of richness and warmth are introduced through textures of natural materials, such as stone and timber with strong grain patterns in the common areas. For the apartment, an ‘urban chic’ style has been proposed: this contemporary look plays with contrasts of light-coloured furniture against dark millwork; of intricately patterned or textured surfaces against straight lines and simple forms.
