108T Playhouse was conceived as a destination for the modern traveller, who seeks to immerse himself in the local culture, connect with the locals and be inspired by authentic experiences.
At the entrance, guests are greeted by a sculptural ceiling composed of upcycled timber pallets sourced from the shipping industry – a tribute to Singapore’s vibrant history as a trading port. Playful design elements abound in the lobby, such as a 'flying ships, floating planes' installation artwork. The mosaic pattern on the reception counter is also reminiscent of local playgrounds that could be found in every neighbourhood back in the 1980s. Indeed, it’s as if you had stumbled upon an oasis amidst the concrete jungle of urban Singapore.
